About A Rose and a Prayer
Mission
We believe that through prayer, communication, and compassion, we can support pregnant women in crisis to make positive decisions for their futures and for their children. We also know that grassroots and public awareness campaigns affect our culture every day by shaping our attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. Thus, A Rose and a Prayer Education Group employs communications strategies that can have a long-term, positive impact on the value Americans place on human life. A Rose and a Prayer Education Group, Inc. has been formed for educational, charitable, and religious purposes under IRS Section 501(c)(3). Contributions are tax deductible. Core StrategiesA Rose and a Prayer focuses on four core strategies in executing our mission:
About UsA Rose and a Prayer Education Group is based in Wilmington, Delaware, and focuses on serving the state of Delaware and surrounding regions. A Rose and a Prayer was founded in 2005 by Delaware businesswoman Ellen Barrosse. Since 2005, A Rose and a Prayer has led several historic efforts that defeated Delaware bills that would have legalized embryonic stem-cell research and human cloning, rallying thousands of citizens to the cause. For her work, Ellen received the Benemerenti medal from His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI in 2006. She is a member of the Cathedral of St. Peter Catholic in Wilmington, Delaware. Ellen is a former president of the Perinatal Association of Delaware, a founding member of the Corporate Leadership Council of Catholic Relief Services, and a former chair of the Red Cross’ Clara Barton Society. She also chaired the communications committee for a diocesan capital campaign to raise $6 million to provide needy Catholic families with scholarships for their children to attend Catholic schools. In 2006, Ellen founded the Delaware chapter of Legatus, an international organization of business leaders who strive to promote and practice the Catholic faith in their business, professional, and personal lives. Ellen continues to serve as the program chair of that organization. In 2010, Ellen received the Msgr. Thomas J. Reese Award from Catholic Charities for her efforts to promote and restore the well-being of people.
Judy Rainier serves as the executive director for A Rose and a Prayer Education Group. She graduated from Hillsdale College in 2006 having majored in political science and Christian studies.
