Join our Prayer Service/Rally

A Rose and Prayer will hold a prayer service and rally in Dover on Tuesday, April 5, on the Green in Dover in front of Legislative Hall at 1:30PM. (Make sure you bring photo id if you are coming; you will need it to get into Legislative Hall.)

if you come by car, there is ample parking in the area surrounding Legislative Hall. Or, you can take a bus from the Chase Center parking lot or Christiana Mall's Park and Ride at noon, returning before 5PM. To reserve a space on a bus, call Bill Rivers at 302.525.4655.

Why are we doing this?

The vast majority of Delawareans support a parental consent law for our state.

Delaware has the weakest parental notification bill in the 50 states. It applies only to girls 15 and under, and it allows even these young girls to bypass their parents by talking to a counselor. We are amending this weak bill with our parental consent bill.

It's only natural, no matter where you stand on the abortion issue, to want to help your daughter if she is pregnant.

We also want to help girls from other states who come here for abortions so they don't have to tell their parents. As you know, Delaware is a destination state for abortion as over 3,000 girls and women cross state lines to have their abortions here.

Schedule for April 5th Prayer Service and Rally

Noon--Free buses leave Christiana Mall Park and Ride and The Chase Riverfront Center parking lot

1:30PM--A short prayer service led by the African-American pastors leading this event

1:50--Short talk by the lead sponsor for our parental consent bill

2:00--Go into Legislative Hall to hand out roses and talk to legislators.

3:00 to 3:30--(Depending on how many people attend) Buses leave for Wilmington and Christiana Mall

4:30 to 5:00--Buses arrive at parking lots.
